Description
Porsche built the 936 as an open-top Group 6 prototype powered by a turbocharged flat-six derived from its endurance racing program, and it took overall victories at Le Mans in the 1970s and again in 1981. For the 1979 race the factory cars ran in the blue-and-red colors of sponsor Essex.
