Colin Chapman's Europa put the engine behind the driver in a compact fiberglass body on a steel backbone chassis, and the Special added the Lotus-Ford twin-cam to make it the quickest version of the line. In Japan it gained a following of its own as the hero car of the racing manga Circuit no Ohkami.
