Ford revealed the Mustang GTD in 2023 as a road-legal car built around the Mustang GT3 racer, with a supercharged V8, carbon fiber bodywork, a rear transaxle and pushrod rear suspension. Ford set out to break the seven-minute barrier at the Nürburgring with it, and did.
