Mercedes-Benz built the G500 4x4² by borrowing the portal axles and towering ride height from the six-wheeled G63 6x6 and putting them under a standard two-axle G-Class, giving it enormous ground clearance and wheel travel. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged V8, and flared fenders cover the widened track.
